An extract from the main story "The Last War". Would Lord Indra really come to the rescue of the Paurava army?" Read on to know more...
King Nripanjaya was continuing with the yagya in the open area in the confined sector. There was a huge open ground near the palace where the yagya was being conducted. Common citizens were prohibited for miles away. The whole area was totally covered by high walls. In the dark hours after sunset, he saw a light sparkling near the yagya. He smiled seeing the signal. He knew the Devas had heard his call. The time had come for him to meet his Lord. The time portal shone brilliantly. A tall and handsome person with a radiant smile and a halo surrounding his face gradually came out of the portal. The portal door closed behind him. Raj Purohit Yagnik was glad. Their prayers were answered.
Lord Indra looked magnificent in his white silk angavastra and dhoti. He was studded with jewellery. He had sharp features. Lord Indra looked the same since king Nripanjaya had seen him last as a small kid. He was timeless due to the fact that the Devas had found amrit ras (the magical elixir drink of life) and also for the fact that a hundred years on planet Earth was equivalent to one day in their abode in the Orion (Mriga) constellation.
King Nripanjaya and Rajpurohit Yagnik bowed in respect to Lord Indra.
